URBAN TRACK
mailto:____________@AOL.COM>
Mike I was requested to respond to a Robbery/Shooting recently. It was a difficult track and many obstacles had to be overcome. The area is an Urban area, plagued with Robberies, Shootings and Homicides, is known for it drug related crimes. On the night in question it was about 0230 hrs. A family was having a typical all night gambling party when 4 suspects entered the house demanding money. All were armed with handguns and at least one vicitm was shot. The yard 8'X 40' yard was enclosed by a fence. 4'-6' in the front and sides and 12' in the rear. When I arrived the job was about 45 mins old. There were at least 18 people on the porch and in the front yard, plus another 15 police doing interviews and canvassing the neighborhood. The victim that was shot was already taken to the hospital and I passed the Fire Dept. and Ambulance on the way in to the scene. Running Police and Emergency vehicle were parked along the street. I was told that the suspects entered from the side door to the house and fled the same way. ( Fenced side yard ) I was further told that the suspects split up once they entered the side yard. Two ran towards the front of the house and two ran towards the rear. One suspect was possibly shot. No blood trail was seen. ( When I say side yard I mean mostly hard dirt and garbage )

No evidence was located that maybe used as scent material from the suspects. The witnesses do not like the Police and it is not uncommon for them to lie about the accounts that they were involved in. So here it is......I have a ton of people at the scene and no starting point. I would appreciate your suggestions and advise. I will later write on how I handled this call. Tracking in the asphalt jungle is so much fun. Thanks for your input.
