These poor misinformed, people have now successfully turned the German Shepherd's
Dog into a bent, twisted, useless creature. I have read articles stating that the German police are
no longer using sporting German Shepherd's Dogs in Germany. In fact they are crossing Malinois
into German Shepherd's Dogs to try and produce a working dog. For years the sporting people have
called sporting dogs, working dogs. I have always stood alone and stated this was not true.
Now these very same people want to go to the Malinois and the Dutch Shepherd's Dog to ruin them
and leave the German Shepherd's Dog in its death throws.
Max Von Stephanitz might have coined the world Schutzund, but he was not involved in the type of
stupid, useless exercises you see today. In fact what we call Schutzhund today has nothing to do
with what it once was.
Working dogs are referred to as are what sporting people like to call
drives. I will tell you that a tactical K-9 is not made by a law enforcement officer who changes his
uniform and wears tactical team coveralls. Some people seem to think that if you are in the tactical
team you must be a tactical team member. I do my own work, therefore
I speak of practical application, not theory. That is why I have applied their theory and found it
doesn't work. They can say what they want, now the world is finding out it doesn't work. There is a
major problem in sporting dogs.
People who brought these sporting so-called tests to test a police service dog.
After the war a wall went up.
People were called east Germans and West Germans. There dogs were trapped. They are all
German Shepherd's Dogs. They all can trace their origin to Germany. Not West Germany, not East
Germany, but Germany.
Tests for an Schutzhund dog or a sporting dog to this day are done to decide
whether or not it is going to make a true service dog. These two types of dogs are totally different.
There are still some very good
working German Shepherd's Dogs.
An article I have read states," the GSD has been king of the police service dog for nearly its entire
existence. With the change in emphasis is beauty and elegance among the GSD breeders; the breed
may be abandoned by law enforcement. The GSD is at risk to becoming what Max Von Stephanitz
said it was not, "a fancy dog."
This is the kettle calling the pot black. Nowhere has more damage
been done to this breed than by the misinterpretation that the sporting community is responsible for. The
show dog and the sporting dog is the same dog. Brain dead, driven creatures that would follow a
ball through a running fan. Here perhaps is where stupidity reigns free. If I want a dog to find a ball, I
train him on drugs. Does that sound right to you? Then why to find drugs is a dog trained on a ball or
towel tug? If the bad guys ever find out how totally stupid these theories are we are in big trouble.
Law enforcement for the most part has been innocent victims of sporting bullshit. They have never
really seen a true working German Shepherd's Dog or Malinois. The fact K-9 units are being
disbanded is proof in itself the human factor must be more dedicated in handling and training. Those
who still lean on sporting theory for K-9 Selection or breeding must be taken out of the working dog
program.
Another thing that really bothers me is that these people have been called on to give testimony in
court. They don't have a clue about a real dog, yet they are looked upon as experts. They are
responsible whether they want to admit it or not, for the decline of dogs being used in police work,
for the miss training of many good dogs and for the miss-information that people have taken as gospel.
This can be shown to be true, as now it is time for them to reap what they have sown. The dogs
inevitably will pay the price and be blamed, but it was them that led the pack and were responsible
for all of the imports and sales of those imports throughout the United States of America. Now they
seem to be saying, "Oh well, we screwed up the German Shepherd's dog, there is still the Malinois
and Dutch Shepherd." Most of them will say the Malinois needs a very experienced handler. This is
their way of explaining an out of control sporting line.
The tests they are being done on these dogs are
for the most part sporting tests. This dictates the best dogs are being overlooked.
I am well into the fight for the very existence of these working breeds. When you people who have
spent so much money on their imports ask, why breeding dogs in the U.S.A. would not have been as
good as importing a dog, your answer is it wouldn't have been as good, it would have been much
better.
To breed an unknown dog of any breed into the German Shepherd's Dog is stupid. It takes long hard
work to put back what they have taken. Common
sense has been avoided for a long time.
I have seen pictures of tactical teams working with K-9 showing the dog and the men out
of position and nowhere near what a working K-9 tactical team would do. You see when someone
who knows and looks at these pictures he sees total lack of communication and effectiveness where the pictures are intended to show you an effective team. They really are showing you a defective team. It is time
for those who can to do and for those who can't to back off.
The decline of the German Shepherd's Dog and its almost virtual destruction is 100% the fault of the
Schutzhund clubs. For years they have been falsely sold and passed off as superior working lines.
The best and the
worst lines are and have been for years in North America. Yet people continue to try to make a
world believe you had to import to get quality.
The true champions of the breed will now take hold of the reins. The picture is complete, but just think how strong, how pure the
German Shepherd's Dog must have been to take so long to fall.
In closing to all of those dedicated individuals involved in true working K-9 programs let me say that this is not the
end of the working dog, but this is the beginning of the end for those individuals who have ran the
dogs and the programs to the ground. We can now pick up where they have left off, knowing they
are known for who they are and what they've done. We can now begin to do the work we love so
well, strong in the fact that the truth has freed us and our breeds of the many parasites we have
carried for so long.
