K-9 Commentary








This site is dedicated in its entirety to the training known as Working Service, to the dogs and handlers and the many obstacles that have been overcome as well as those that lie just ahead.

I have trained and studied this form of communication and motivation for over 30 years. My stand has always been strong on this philosophy and its right of passage into the world of working dogs. This stand has caused many followers of the sport world to damn both this work and myself.

My work has not been widely publicized as to its accomplishments. This was my decision. The fact that I have not done this has permitted the whiners to proclaim many untruths. Untruths about the training and myself only add to the interest of Working Service Training and Philosophy. I will use this site to present the truth.

Communication and Direction-The foundation in intense exercises is communication and direction. The big lesson is to learn to speak when we must and to be quiet when we should be. There is no quick fix, yet it is also far from impossible. The most difficult thing to accept is that in ten lifetimes we will only touch upon the incredible ability of the dog. Many intense exercises are done with both males and females. Many times the female is the most intense and responsive dog on the field. However if one were to watch only the males they would have been amazed as they should be. It is in the seeing of the female under such conditions that her abilities are very obvious. One can never see this unless the female is worked.
